Baptised Edward John LOCKETT 13 September 1829 St. Mary's Lambeth, Surrey. Parents were John LOCKETT and his wife Sarah.
As John Edwin LOCKETT, he married Emily GRANGER (1838-aft 1901) 26 December 1859 St. Bartholomew Moor Lane, London. He was the son of John LOCKETT, hatter. She was 22 years old and the daughter of James GRANGER, Waiter.
In 1861 John & Emily Lockett were living in St. George Southwark, London Road, Surrey. He was a a Walking Stick Maker. They have a daughter Mary Ann, aged 6, whose birth I have not yet located. Not sure if Emily Granger is her mother, or if John Lockett had an earlier marriage (although he was described as a bachelor in his 1859 marriage, when Mary Ann would have been 4 or 5)
[?] Who were Mary Ann LOCKETT's parents? There are 2 registrations in Shoreditch that are possible - Q1 1855 1c196 & Q3 1855 1c112. What happened to her after 1891, when she was living in St. Mary Newington?
A Mary Ann Lockett married Alexander Charles Bridge in Dec 1891 Wandsworth, but her father was William, a fireman.
A Mary Ann Lockett died Jun 1898 aged 51 in Camberwell 1d 454. Was this her?
[?] Who was Emily GRANGER? We have located her after her 1859 marriage, in the 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891, 1901 census records. She remarried in 1888 to George MELSOM, Pocket Book Maker. Emily worked for a time as a Charwoman. There is no record of Emily or her father James in the 1841 or 1851 census, nor have we found a baptismal record.

I see that Mary Ann LOCKETT was a witness at the marriage of James LOCKETT in 1880. And again at Emily's remarriage in 1888. Unlike James and Emily, she was able to sign her name.
