175th Anniversary: Elizabeth & Benjamin DOMAN

Elizabeth HAYTER and Benjamin DOMAN were married on this day in 1835, one hundred and seventy five years ago. They are the 5th Great-Grandparents of my children. The marriage was celebrated in Hill Deverill, Wiltshire.

There is a geocache there: The Deverills - Hill
Hill Deverill is a village in the Deverill Valley on the Wiltshire Downs where the western edge of Salisbury Plain meets Somerset. Deverill (or “diving rill”) refers to the rill or stream running through the valley which in places disappears underground.

Benjamin Doman was an agricultural labourer. He and Elizabeth had seven children. Their daughter Leah married Job Cox and emigrated to Southern Ontario.
